Wuliaojian is an old favorite for most of us on the hike today, and just as much fun as always. For a change though, we finally got to explore the trail further along the ridge to the cliff-hanging trees at Longshanyan. Once wed made it to the summit of Wuliaojian s pointy peak, the hike on to Longshanyan was surprisingly easy (barely another hour), although very scenic, with a few exciting bits. From now on itll be my prefered route on Wuliaojian (missing out the long and rather ...er...wuliao descent after the peak back to the road, and adding the two 2,000-year-old conifers clinging to the edge of a vertigenous sheer cliff. Theres even a bus back from the end of the hike, at Wuliao village, at 4:45! Win-win.
