Wurie Baibana thank you for your response br Kemoh Sidibay . there re ignorant people every where. when I was in guinea many of my salone compatriots thought I was home as I was living in the compound of a Barry family in bell vue. we had two amputees living with us in a single bedroom. when conte made those horrible remarks against refugees in 2000, my compatriots were shocked when I was booted out of the house. it was the 1st time I experienced been homeless. you know you are homeless when you dont have a place to live your luggage. but it wasnt the 1st time I was kicked out of a house. the 1st was just a week after fleeing in june 97- just because I hear nightmares of gun-toting men following me and I couldnt run and end up wakingup the host from my cries. wallahi bro I was shocked - both are fula people. from Bellevue the only alternative I had was to relocate to the refugee camps in forecariah - I still remember been horded in the truck to the camps. but you know what? my best days was in the camp - its where I discovered Allah - I met some of the late sheikh mujtabahs students. it was the 1st time I put my hands on a book with the 99 names of Allah Azzawajal (in English). it was the 1st time I got involved in building a mosque (with thatch), it was the 1st time I lead prayers in a very big mosque (built by Kuwait), it was the 1st time i noticed women were rejecting me bcos they believe I wasnt serious in any relationships... every thing was 1st, 1st, 1st... Should be angry about the past? no way becoz all that happened to me were signs from Allah - I learned a lot. @bro sheku maiga we are all in this together. what you wrote is sooooo true. may Allah swt give us the courage and strength to forgive and be forgiven and grant us Jannatul Firdawsil Aala. ameen SHEKU MARIGA,i really want to know why some kono boys are calling non-kono tribal ethnic groups yet born in kono as keyemoi ,(strangers ). We are all from kono and thats the place we know as our home to ! i would appreciate any comments of anyone who can explain this to me. Alie Baba Jalloh Thats a good question Mr. Mariga which needs to be answered by those who think that way. Not all our Kono brothers and sisters think that way but sadly you have a few who refuse to be progressive in their thinking and as Professor Sesay says, they are just IGNORANT. by referring to people born in Kono but not Kono in tribe as Keyemoi. Sheku Mariga Sorry if i offended anyone but i would like to express this point . Due to this , this is holding back many people from different ethnic groups who where born in kono district , helping improve the district in different ways Bob Nabay Did my brother Alie Alie Baba Jalloh say a few? I think its the majority. Mr Sheku Mariga it will take more than fb to tackle that question. We need a symposium, we need a honest discuss about this elephant of a topic with participants that are willing to tackle it once and for all, no sugar-coating, no praise-singing. I have thrown it out there a few times and it is my ardent belief that until we take care of such a thing that has held us back, most non-konos will even abandon the land as many have already done let alone partake in any developmental project that bears the nama kono. Kemoh Sidibay My bro Sheku Mariga,u didnt offend anyone, you are just saying what you know and fill, likewise all of us can do or say the same way we fill or perceive things that affect our world .B4 i go further let me first say God bless America, the most tolerable country on earth;yet there are many ignorant people here as well.I have travel a lot ,i have been to Senegal ,Guinea conakry,Gambia,Cape verde, i was born and raised in Sierra leone of course,i have been to Guinea Bissau,Hong Kong,South Africa,Canada,Thailand,Portugal,England,USA etc etc,.Most of these coutries peoples call strangers different names,i have even forgotten some of the unwanted names the call foreigners. In terms of treatment,i have never been to any places or countries that treats foreigners better than Kono,Sierra Leone and USA. Places that i have been to that treat strangers the worse are Cape Verde(the call strangers Manjaku)Gambia also treat strangers badly,God is my witness if i am lying,i was born and raised in Maraka Compound(behind chief) i speake Maraka,Madingo, kono,Kriolu portuguse,Creole,Portuguese,English,i am a multi Lingual, likewise my origin,My grand father is from Wassolloo in Mali,(mixed fula mandingo) my mom Kono,so i am not taking sides,i am elaborating on what i know about how people treat strangers in different coutries. In Senegal and Gambia they tap you on your shoulder to ask you for your documents. We pray we al learn to tolerate each other as Gods children, salaam. Kakay Jalloh Ibrahim there is no konotribesman here in Angola, i think thats why k p u is well organised n we making progress. Kemoh Sidibay Thats why i am not there ,i am happy to be in the United States;the most free and tolerable country in the world, that doesnt mean we dont have hooligan here but its better than all the countless places i have been to for business etc, except for kono(Sierra Leone).I have many families in The Gambia, and i have been there over 50 times ,yet The Gambia is the last place i want to live on Earth if giving the chance, Gambians are my neighbours in Kono,i love them i speak their language, but the Gambias that live in Gambia dont treat trangers well, sorry to say that,i know what countless of our SIERRA LEONEANS bros are going through there.Fortunately i have been to all the neighbouring west African couties, its easy to blame others when they are advocating their rigth. I believed, love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend, the greatest cravings of everyman is the desire to be appreciated.I am happy bro Kakay mentioned above how Kono people are not tolerated by other foreigners in Angola and places, that is proof that people discriminate others unecessary bec of ingnorance,i didnt fill comfortable telling other Sierra leonean of Guinean and Gambian origin that i was related to kono somehow(that my mother was a kono) i noticed how i was marginalised, i only feel comfortable saying it in America when i came to settle here bec here is a level plain ground ,everyone is a child of God ,everyone can make his/her way somehow without being discriminated much by other Africans,i was even hated by fellow Sierra Leonean of such origin in those countries whom i was even helping just because some notice i was related to kono somehow;why Kono be elevated. I love Kono bec is a place of my birth, not bec i am rushing to be a leader or a politician,a good leader is always choosing by God,without politics and power in kono or sierra leone, i am already blessed by the power of God through my business ventures, in those countries i lived before settling here. All we need to do is pray for us to learn to tolerate each other as Gods children. Kemoh Sidibay Perhaps the greatest reason to practice random kindness is that it brings great contentment into your life. Each act of kindness rewards you with positive feelings and reminds you of the important aspects of life - service, kindness, and love.If we all do our part, pretty soon we will live in a niecer world. Haja Jabbie U said it all my bro may Allah bless u for ur good Kemoh Sidibay Thnks sis Haja Jabbie. Abdulai Gamanga Love for all and hatred for none, should be the primary focus of all those who have benifited from the topography of the great land that contributed in shaping the lifes of thousands of people all over the globe, stranger is a word use to people you meet for the first time. Peace building, social and economic empowerment for people who one way or the other have benifeted through up bringing, education, brotherhood, of the land that accomodate different ethnics groups, therefore let take note of all comment and work collectively for the development of the inhabitant of the land full of milk and honey.
