Wurzle report: Although brighter today and eating little and often his white cell count continues to climb. The specialists are very concerned with his blood counts so he had ultrasound scans today to check for sterile peritonitis - all clear. Its weird because looking at him he looks like hes improving and not a dog with a white cell count of 60,000! Gulp! (Normal is 6,000 -17,000). The large surgical wound has healed beautifully and sutures are due out in the next few days, all the bruising has subsided. Weve taken more blood tests which are being analysed at an external lab and look forward to some answers with their detailed report tomorrow. Weve changed the dose on some of his meds and changed from injections to tablets for some of them. Our goal is to get him stable enough to get him off the constant intravenous infusions so he has a bit more freedom and is not constantly wired up. The most wonderful part of today was when he was given a new cuddly squeaky toy badger - he was so pleased and excited!
