Wyatt the Warrior Update If you havent been following his group page - Wyatt had a few ups and downs this past week or so. They had to do a second head surgery to install a shunt, because he had too much fluid building up in his head. However, aside from some vomiting issues, his other scans and test results seem to be more positive than negative. He does have some permanent brain damage, but because hes only 13 months old - they cant really assess the damage very well. Its more of a wait and see what hes capable of approach. But that being said, he HAS relearned how to hold his head up, how to SIT up, and is vocalizing some. (Mostly babbling at this point, but he did say Mom once.... I bet that melted his mommys heart on the spot.) He may or may not have some vision loss - again, they have to wait and see, but the test results are optimistic. Hes doing several hours of physical and vocal rehabilitation each day - and his therapists say he is progressing well. Please keep this little warrior in your thoughts and prayers, and keep wishing for as much recovery as possible! Some general info of things done so far: I have delivered a weeks worth of meals (breakfast and dinner, anyway) from my own freezer to a friend of Wyatts mom, so she can eat on the go, while going back and forth from her home to the hospital. Another person managed to gather funds for, and deliver a prepaid gas card to Wyatts mom, to help her get back and forth. Another anonymous party is taking Erica and Wyatt a Thanksgiving dinner spread up to the hospital. We got a freezer today for the care package, and its an upright with 15 cubic feet of space! I have learned that the family has three dogs - but Im unsure what kind, or if they need anything. If you are contributing to the care package, and want to include something for the dogs, feel free. Id be happy to pass along pet food, toys or treats - but Wyatt and mom are our primary focus, here. I will make a separate post, listing the items I have already taken possession of - as well as items still needed. Stay tuned! Feel free to contact me by email at papafoundation@hotmail or call or text me directly at 586-291-1651. Thank you for your support! ---Katrina
