Wyoming State Troopers assist people on a daily basis statewide. Trooper Gabe Testerman, a nine year Patrol veteran stationed in Cheyenne, pulled a life saving assist on January 13th. Trooper Testermans sister, Angela Sundstrom of Brady, Nebraska, has had Type 1 Diabetes since age three. Angela, now 37, was told to start considering a kidney transplant a year and a half ago due to her long battle with diabetes. In 2014, Angela began kidney dialysis and it was discovered last August that Trooper Testerman was a suitable match for a kidney transplant. Without hesitation, Trooper Testerman agreed to help his big sister. The transplant took place yesterday, January 13th, and at 7:30 a.m., Trooper Testerman gave Angela his left kidney. The transplant was successful and both Angela and Trooper Testerman are doing well. Angela and Trooper Testerman will remain under observation for a while, but both should be home within four to six days. Trooper Testerman is expected to return back to full duty in approximately six weeks, minus one kidney. Trooper Testerman said that he and Angela have always been close, but now they are closer than ever. Please join us in wishing Angela and Trooper Testerman a quick and successful recovery.
