X Factor 2014 judges: Cheryl Cole doesnt want Mel B joining panel Cheryl Cole is apparently not at all happy with the prospect of Mel B joining The X Factor 2014 judging panel. Only Simon Cowell and Cheryl are confirmed for the new series but Mel is looking more and more likely to be announced as becoming a new part the show. It was previously claimed that Simon hopes that outspoken Mel will work well alongside the quieter Cheryl. “Simon wants someone who will get people talking,” a source declared. “Cheryl may be the nation’s sweetheart but she is a bit too careful about what she says. “Mel won’t care, so she’s perfect.” The former Spice Girl herself confirmed just last week that she was in talks with show bosses although nothing had been signed just yet. Speaking on radio down under, where she is currently taking part in The Voice Kids Australia, Mel insisted: “Nothing’s been set in stone, I haven’t signed anything…” But she added: “British X Factor, who wouldn’t want to do that?” According to Heat magazine however, it seems Simon may have an uphill struggle convincing Cheryl that its a good idea. A source told the magazine this week: “Mel has been successful in the US and, when new girls like Cheryl go out there she sees it as ‘her turf’ and gets very territorial.” “Mel is a very strong character and they probably won’t get on at all” a source told heat. Other rumoured judges for this year’s show include Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie, Jake Shears, Alesha Dixon and Kesha.
