XVIII Airborne Corps Soldiers train, prepare to fight Ebola -- More than 1,800 #USArmy #Soldiers conducted Personal Protective Equipment (#PPE) training at Fort Bragg, N.C., U.S. Army Fort Campbell,Ky., and Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Oct. 9-21 in preparation for #OPERATIONUNITEDASSISTANCE – including members of #FortBragg’s 602ND ASMC (Area Support #Medical) Company and the 44th Medical Brigade. #Army Soldiers were educated on country and regional medical conditions and endemic diseases; personal sanitation; #Ebola symptoms, as well as daily monitoring and surveillance screening. The pre-deployment #training included careful donning and wear of protective suits and proper decontamination procedures. Classroom instruction was followed by practical exercises and outdoor training, where Soldiers prepared and trained as long as necessary until achieving proficiency -- including following the two-Soldier buddy-system technique.
