Xalel Dey Mag - Cheikh Lo (Live) at Cape - TopicsExpress

Xalel Dey Mag - Cheikh Lo (Live) at Cape Ouest. Senegal. Allow me to share with you the Xalel Dey Mag performed by Cheikh Lo in Dakar when I went to see him perform.I was just happy because it reminded me of Gambia and our struggle to preserve our cultural heritage..even though the song carries elements of mbalax music in it.It was still beautiful seeing and hearing Gambias own afromanding type music in the land of mbalax,Senegal or anywhere else in the world like the legendary Ifang Bondi and others have done and are doing all around the world. This post is not to reiterate the issue between myself,my producer, the royal collecting society, the national council for arts and culture concerning the song Xalel Dey Magg.I believe everyone knows the story by now of how we are/were accused of STEALING the song. This is to clarify a post I had made on facebook,a picture i had taken with cheikh Lo,when I went to see him perform in Cape Ouest,Senegal. Wether Badou Jobe[Ifang Bondi] owns or owned or will own this video where Cheikh Lo is performing Xalel Dey Magg but the facebook post of my picture with Cheikh Lo had nothing to do with Badou Jobe just then. Until he came and called us thieves, even after everybody knows we were given permission to do our version of Xalel Dey Magg song via gentlemans agreement through the telephone after the misunderstanding we had.Muhammed Sumareh, a colleague from the music union is my witness. We made the call together and spoke to Badou and his wife..I am tired them telling people that we stole Xalel Dey Magg from Ifang Bondi. If we are thieves because I uploaded a picture with Cheikh Lo and praised Cheikh Los version of Xalel Dey Magg..Then what is happening here is someone is insinuating that Cheikh Lo also stole his version from Badou Jobe? just like we were called thieves. I have already taken down everything concerning Xalel Dey Magg from all my internet activities. And if i see one i overlooked.i take it out as Badou directed via a lawyer contacted here in Gambia. Xalel Dey Magg is neither going to be on my album coming out this weekend. To me the song does not exist anymore.Any Dj/Radio presenter still playing it on Gambian radio. This post is also to admonishing you to kindly stop giving it airplay. Seek no harm or disrespect to anyone.Especially to an elder like Badou Jobe. Ifang Bondi where people I used to look up to but everything has to come to the light. For all to see. That is all. With Kind Regards.
