Xary Elizabeth - I couldn’t wait. I was too excited for Brooklyn to see it and hang it on her wall. Although this just may have been ‘another piece’ to you, there are no words that can truly express my feelings and gratitude toward you and the incredible gift you’ve given us. Little do many know, we were told that Brooklyn was extremely sick and her condition was critical. We tried many things, but Brooklyn was quickly slipping away from us. She slept all day and night, stopped talking, and soon only responded to pain stimuli. At this point I truly thought I had lost my daughter and would never hear her say ‘daddy’ again and that she would never be able to hear me tell her that I love her. I remember very distinctly when we got the phone call in the middle of the night that a liver was available. We were told that surgery typically took 8-10 hours but not to be alarmed if it took longer. The wait to see my little girl again was very hard, and it was quite a shock to see her back in the room with so many tubes and machines and beeps. But it wasn’t too long before she woke up from the anesthesia and looked right at me and said, ‘daddy.’ That was the best sound in the world to hear again. Every day I watch my daughter smile, run, play, and I’m so thankful for every little thing she gets to discover and be a part of. You’re truly an inspiration. An amazing mother, beautiful woman, and the most creative person I know. Your work is in so many peoples’ homes, and this one will always be in ours. Thank you! ❤
