Xavier is sill sick since before New Years Eve. Declan has also been sick since Friday. Declan was put on a high dose antibiotic yesterday. The first round of antibiotics and steroids did nothing for Xavier...he actually got a little worse. Went to the hospital yesterday to see what the CF team thinks. Both kids got all their meds changed around, and new ones added. Xaviers chest x-Ray showed a lower respiratory infection, plus Bronchiolitis and the doctor said he sounds like theres quite a bit of mucus in one of his lower lobes. Hes now on 3 different nose sprays because hes even more swollen than normal up his nose. His lung function test was 15% lower than normal. It might be partly because he did the test with a RT hes not used to (HOPING thats what it is!!). Both kids are doing airway clearance 4X a day right now. Xavier is starting a very aggressive antibiotic today, waiting on throat cultures they took yesterday on both kids, FINGERS CROSSED THIS WORKS!
