Xenophobic attacks is South Africa, sad.........My son is 4. Im South African and his father Zim. I have to sometimes deal with family making jokes about it at his expense. I dont want him to grow up ashamed of who he is yet I want to protect him at the same time. I dont even mess around with the relatives that will call him ikhalanga, son of a boarder jumper, somalian (because of his skin tone and hair). And knowing very well that he had all the correct documents legally. Unfortunately his father is late but not from xenophobic attacks. Imagine if family can do this to a 4yr old what of those ngaphandle? Over the years its died down though mainly because I had a 0 tolerance mindset about it. I chose to have my son with a Zim man by choice. And I have no regrets. Blessed with the sweetest thing on earth, generous and emphathatic as his father.
