Xolile Mngenis lawyer is investigating more options to get his client medical parole after his previous bid was refused, the Cape Times reported. He is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Anni Dewani. Mngenis lawyer Matthews Dayimani said that it would be the most human thing to do to give his client medical parole so that he can spend his last days with his family. Mngeni was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011. However, he was denied medical parole as Minister of Correctional Services Michael Masutha said he thought Mngeni would not receive adequate treatment outside of prison. However this has not stopped him from continuing to seek parole. We will assist and investigate and see what else can be done so the concerns of the parole board can be addressed, Dayimani told the Cape Times.
