YAKIMA FRESH HOP ALE FESTIVAL to stay alive in support of the arts. YAKIMA, WA— Recognizing the need to support arts in the Yakima Valley, the Yakima Fresh Hop Ale Festival will continue its effort to contribute to our community’s unique culture. The festival will coincide with the annual harvest of hops and will include over thirty breweries featuring fresh hop ales. The majority of the hops used in those fresh hop ales have been harvested right here in the Yakima Valley, as well as neighboring hop regions in Oregon and Idaho, which has been a paramount contributor to the U.S. hop industry for over a century. Following Allied Arts’ disbandment, the committee members of the Fresh Hop Ale Festival recognize an opportunity to demonstrate how our community in the Yakima Valley can advance art culture and education through further collaboration and partnership. The majority of the proceeds from the festival will go toward Yakima art organizations including The Seasons Performance Hall and the Yakima Museum. A portion of proceeds will also go to non-profit hop organizations. The committee keeping the Fresh Hop Ale Festival alive recognizes a unique opportunity in the Yakima Valley to celebrate our agriculture history and future, while giving back to the local art culture.
