YAY! Progress with our big possum that was hit by a car. (Its a he.) His eyes have stopped bouncing around which seems to indicate some serious improvement with his head trauma. He still doesnt want to eat on his own. I ended up giving him subQ fluids yesterday to keep him from getting dehydrated. (Everything came out OK with that!) He did sit up and look at me and looked a bit more alert today. So Im hoping for a full recovery. My biggest concern (other than guiding him through the next few steps of his recovery) would be any lasting brain damage from his hit to the head. So Ill we watching his progress and movements for any indications of long term problems. But for now, he has made some improvement and we will be working with him to get him through the next stage, which is eating and drinking on his own. Thanks for all the prayers and warm thoughts for this beautiful boy!
