YCLSA wishes Ahmed Kathrada a happy 85th birthday The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] wishes Comrade Ahmed Mohamed Kathrada a happy 85th birthday and wishes him more years to come. Comrade Kathy is a liberation struggle veteran who tirelessly fought for our freedom from the oppressive apartheid regime. He is a former member of the YCLSA and as members of the YCLSA we continue to draw lessons from his life and to use him as source of inspiration. Young people can learn a lot from comrade Kathy. As a youth he was disciplined and committed to the struggle for a just and fair South Africa. Militant and radical as he was; he would have never behaved like the EFF hooligans did yesterday in parliament. He understood what is meant by robust debate and never caused anarchy with the aim of appearing as militant. We wish him a long and prosperous life. We will continue to pursue the struggle for the realisation his dream of a socialist South Africa. The YCLSA is committed to ending racism, inequality, and unemployment. We will not tire until there is socialisation of the ownership and control of the means of production.
