YEAH, finally I’ve met the Giant Manta Ray again, the largest ray of the world! This one was six meters wide and soooo beautiful! Heres more about him in a nice video: https://youtube/watch?v=yfgJx-ShRGI Seven years ago Ive met the Giant Manta Ray for the first time, here in Tofo (Mozambique). Today I was again lucky enough to experience such an encounter. Searching manta rays is like this. We dive till around 25 meters depth and search for a so called ‘cleaning station’, where thousands of little fish swim around in a sort of volcano crater waiting to clean the huge wings and body of the unique Manta Ray (family of the sharks, by the way). When we’re lucky and don’t create too much bubbles or other distraction a manta ray can enter your cleaning station and swim around for some mintues, get cleaned by the little fish, and fly away again. At least four dives we weren’t lucky and waited for nothing at such a cleaning station, but today it happened, there he was, the huge overwhelming bastard!
