YES FOR SATURDAY!! Now if only I could swing things like that for dates. No, Im sorry but today is a bad day. ... But if you want, tomorrow would be cool? Just, like, you know. Casually sort of decline bc actual stuff, but avoid the feeling of rejection while also signaling interest and either setting up or opening up the option for an alternative. It isnt that I dont understand certain things; its that actually being motivated to DO anything with the knowledge I have is nearly impossible. Plus theres my issue with reading people—that CAN however be sidestepped by offering options and just setting specific hard parameters for when to abandon all efforts. Its not exactly *deftly* sidestepping the issue, and it comes with its own problems—specifically how to set the parameters and the fact that people vary greatly in both receptiveness and tolerance—but still, SOME system is better than no effort, if there is no natural talent and the system is at least ethical and (thus also) non-manipulative in design.
