YES.. Im with you all and feel and mourn with the family for the loss of an innocent child in 2yo Sam Trott, but with ALL due respect, there are nameless and faceless lives being lost daily that the media refuses to publicize. We all know the name and face of this one child which brings connection to us, but why do we, in todays day and age allow the media to dictate what is and isnt important? The wonderful response to this need from the community in the suburbs of Perth was wonderful to hear of, and it shows that we are a compassionate and caring people. When there is need we will rally together and do what we can to help. But just because the media choose not to emphasize the importance of the 25 Australian born innocent babies being deported to Nauru, the 100s of innocent children still in detention, the billions still living in extreme poverty, we dont respond with the same vigor and fervour. Every life is precious, we are all human, we are all a part of the same race. May our love and care for others not be bound by colour, race, political influence, religion or national borders.
