YES! So sad, teachers themselves are all to often so caught up in such a such a dysfunctional system that cannot, will not address the needs of HUMAN BEINGS and the very essence of education. The holistic approach that is required to empower and enable true, deep, inspirational learning to occur seems to be lost on mainstream educational systems altogether. Ive been asking the question for a few years now to people young and old, how many great teachers did you have, many can name one or two at the most and they remember kindness first and foremost :-) and those lessons went into the childs whole being and remain there, those teachers are remembered. Teachers need autonomy to grow into the very best teacher they can be, to be allowed to be shaped by their experiences and learn from their students...knowing that they will forever remain a student themselves. Principles like that are a disgrace and shouldnt be in positions of power sadly they are, all power to the teachers who make stand and teach with wide open hearts and souls, children need and deserve that!
