The opening up Indian economy to collaborative ventures of transnational and Indian corporate, everyday rips through our peoples’ lives. These people do not include billionaires and millioners , nor the giant houses of transnational or India corporate. it include unemployed, small , marginal farmers, daily wage laborers, casual and contractual workers, middle class wage earners, small traders, young and energetic entrepreneurs in quest of his lots in small and medium enterprises and other milieu of different segments of poverty stricken population. Developments projects by successive central governments means establishment of firm gripping of natural resources by the corporate and their amassing huge wealth, development means massive privatization, labor reforms to facilitate accumulation of wealth , pushing people off their hands and out of jobs, starvation, denial of basic education, health care etc resulting in a kind of barbaric dispossessions . One of my much respected colleague, during a very inspiring and educative exchange of views asserted that there is general erosion of honesty and credibility crisis percolated down the level inducing common people. The statement is partially true but does not reflect in totality. It is all about seismic changes being brought about as humanity co-exists between the age of fast scientific developments, penetrating into the domain of unknown nature, what once Engels described as expansion of human liberty and the virtual reality, a smock screen created by the bourgeois [Sorry, no word could substitute] society to withhold the knowledge from the domain of common people. The science is used today in the service of maximization of wealth and profits for handful of few. The ethics, values, definition of honesty and morality bears newer connotation today as defined by the wealth and profit mongers who are the beneficiary of this social orders. I belong to this vast river of humanity, I love them adore them. I understand at this odd age why forces of progression [who wish to change this social order] consistently repose their faith on them as the wheel of social change. Now all of the rivers, in the movement of course of history, would gush out from the depth of eternal soul, the mover of history, from rocks, sands and glaciers that is the force that would set the equitable social order. Convictions, convictions, nothing but convictions, the living unity developing in the horizon would be the essence of change. I adore, with which the great believers and great agonistics who carry it consciously or unconsciously.
