YES (@the central point anyway). Been meaning to rant a bit on this topic. I have no idea whatever counts as being introverted these days, honestly. The buzzfeed quizzes and relatable (supposedly) introvert stuff that people usually share around. One would think the world is full of introverts by now. Its just fine to be an introvert (or an extrovert or an ambivert). But theres nothing cool about being introvert - I personally think it sucks to be an introvert (i.e. the quality of introversion in isolation, although I grant that its hard to separate it from your other qualities). The point it is well known that extraverts experience more positive emotions than introverts, extraverts tend to experience more positive emotions all throughout the day, regardless of whether the activity is social or solitary seems intuitively right to me (havent read the paper). Neither is it synonymous with being intelligent or nice - you can be the stupidest jackass in the world and still be an introvert. Extroverts or ambiverts can have quality alone time with books etc. too. Introverts are just at a disadvantage here and objectively speaking (at least in my case) quality of life is somewhat affected by introversion. If I had a choice, despite all the ramblings against extroversion and whatnot, Id certainly choose not to be an introvert. But since I am not, I am fine with whatever I am now - that doesnt mean its hip or cool. Others may or may not agree, but thats how *I* feel.
