Of late, my friends, mostly from the western part of Nigeria have come to identify with the Pyrrhic idea of Change, of the kind Buhari is offering. When the likes of us, with history and vision to fall back on, come out forcefully to bring to fore the realities of their dubious and hollow echoes of their imaginary change, those of us who stand firm and resolute are then called names. It is either we are bought or being patronized by President Jonathans Administration. How insulting and pathetic! When those expected to see, have suddenly gone blind, deaf and dumb, such that they begin to exhibit traces of intolerance and flippant liberties - Choosing to call anyone opposing them Enemy of Progress, then, in the proverbial omode to ko iyan ale, the child that refuses the supper prepared by the father, oro le fe gbo; it is time you are told the bitter truths! Chief Obafemi Awolowo, remains an ICON of Truth, of Knowledge, of Equality, of the Realities, within the geographical enclave, NIGERIA! And Awo, still remains the beacon of the best of the Yoruba. An example of the best of brains... And he wrote many books. And, instead of hiding behind the rather thin finger of belonging to the Awolowo school of thought, by the modern day rouge camouflaging as Awoists, and leaders of the Yorubas, why not acknowledge the reality that Awolowo prophetically pronounced an Ijaw Presidency in his book: The Peoples Republic years before, some of these charlatans were born and before Jonathan was barely out of his diapers? The other reality is that the Yorubas helped to concretize the inequalities in this country, whether by Acts of Commissions or Omissions. This we did by providing the lopsided design of those with the Born to Rule mentality with an electoral safe haven in the Omo wa ni, e je o se eras... Oyo returned less than 25% in 1979, but NPN, still got the required percentage to satisfy the electoral doctrine of substantial compliance, through the manipulative 12 2/3rd, when the Yoruba provided the head to Change a whole set of 13 indivisible States to 12 2/3rds. Now another 12 2/3rds is looming, when a certificateless 72 year old is being manipulated as the Messiah! The fact, which I urge upon you all, my readers, to accept now for the good of everybody, is that Yorubas dont shy away from Mischief, Back Biting, Pull Him Down.... You would all recollect that we excoriated even our own, Olusegun Obasanjo when he was there as President! We criticized him the most! Ironically, due to a bizarre twist of events, The Obasanjo that the Yoruba lambasted during his 8 year rule, has now become the Best President Nigeria Ever Had! Yoruba! Yoruba! Yoruba! Those the ignoble Change pushers are putting up against President Jonathan, just a year to two years ago, pitted OPC in the same category with Boko Haram. Whoever has ears, let him, hear. Yet there are still Yoruba, who have read and imbibed the teachings of Chief Awolowo, who would stand STEADFAST BY WHAT IS JUST AND NEEDFUL, STAND WITH THE REST OF THE PATRIOTIC NIGERIANS TO ENSURE THAT INDEED, NOBODY IS BORN TO RULE IN 2015! Chief Awolowo wondered allowed and asked the NPN in 1979: Could not the NPN throws up a better Presidential material other than Shagari, a mere Grade 2 Teacher!? Awo even opines that Chief Richard Akinjide of the NPN was at least a better Presidential material to Shagari. For those of the Yoruba still canvassing for a Buhari presidency, in the name of Oodua, e ma ba ola wa je! Do not spoil our glories! How misinformed, how miseducated are those Yoruba, who dont know our worth in education and valid certificates, now trying to foist a Buhari on us in this 21st century, in which the world has totally gone technological into space and beyond ...! Seal has 4 Grammy awards, Sade has a couple of them too. Femi Kuti, another Yoruba man has been nominated twice. Thats the closest weve ever got to the Grammys, all Yorubas! In 960 in the commonwealth festival of arts, in over 30 plays presented in London among commonwealth countries, a YORUBA, Late Duro Ladipo, won 1st Prize for presenting Oba Koso! In films and home videos, Yoruba are Firsts, from Soyinkas Kongis Harvest in 1963 on celluloid to the 1st home video, all are Yoruba!! The 1st Nobel Laurate in Nigeria and in Africa, Wole Soyinka-Yoruba! Yoruba have also been known to be great administrators. Before the scramble for Africa, Alaafin ruled over a kingdom that extended from Oyo to Dahomey and even the borders of Borgu in Nupe land! Now consider this, a Yoruba man Lai Mohammed on 2nd Sept. 2012 granted several interviews in Nigerian dailies, saying in spite of all these feats achieved by the Yoruba race, it is not in his partys interest the ACN to allow the Yoruba emerge as the Speaker of the House of Representatives ....there lies the CURSE of the Yoruba! ACN has metamorphosed into APC, and these are the same people who denied the Yoruba the 4th place in the Hierarchy that went to the North West, and still support power shift to the North! Why couldnt they have given us, a Fashola or an OSHIOMOLE Ticket!??
