YOU ARE ONLY FREE FROM PAST WHEN YOU’VE RESTITUTED FOR IT And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. Luke 19:8-9 When Christ saw the extent at which Zacchaeus wanted to receive Him, He decided to visit him. But though He had visited him yet He didn’t announce his salvation until he had decided to restitute for the past errors of his vocation. Restitution is trying to make up for the past. It’s like restoring every stolen item still at your possessions, apologizing to those you offend if you can’t undo the evil you did to them etc. your day of salvation as a Christian begins when you begin to restitute for your past. Your past will not become a past until you’ve restituted for it. When you give your life to Christ, you need to make up for those past sins if not you’ll be haunted by it. You don’t expect God to save you when you are still with that stolen materials, another person’s spouse, job or holding someone’s apology that you owe him/her. To experience total salvation, restore every stolen item, apologize to all those you’ve offended and salvation will come to your life. Always remember that the past becomes a past when we’ve restituted for it.
