YOU ARE REDEEMED In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:7 Redemption! What a powerful word. It implies the buying back of something that was lost. It also carries the idea of paying a ransom to free an individual who has been kidnapped or held captive. For the Christian, it describes the process by which we were delivered from the power of sin and Satan into newness of life in Christ Jesus. • Our redemption is made possible because of the high price that was paid to secure our freedom- the blood of Jesus. We do not earn redemption through our good works or efforts but only through the blood of Christ that was shed from the garden of Gethsemane to the cross of Calvary. • Our redemption offers us forgiveness of sins. Through the blood of Christ, we have the means to have our sins cleansed. No sin is so vile that it cannot be forgiven and no man or woman is beyond redemption. In Christ, we have the key to unlock hells prison doors and the power to live a life of righteousness. • Our redemption is made available through the riches of Gods grace. His Grace reaches out to us whilst we are still unworthy and welcomes us into life in His kingdom. Because redemption is through grace, it is a free gift that can be received by anyone simply by asking for it.
