YOU CANNOT EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT! That is a popular saying. - TopicsExpress

YOU CANNOT EAT YOUR CAKE AND HAVE IT! That is a popular saying. This will apply to two people today. Th two people are Stephen Okechukwu Keshi and Aminu Tambuwa. One was (is) the coach of the Eagles while one is (was) the Speaker of Nigerias House of Reps. Let me deliver their letters: Stephen Keshi, like my people will say, o ma se o. So you lack no shame. So the day they were sharing shame, they did not meet you at home. So you actual (want to) return as the Eagles Coach? This event has confirmed what some of us already knew. You are really an empty shell; an empty drum. Where are those countries you bragged about that wanted you after you won the Nations Cup? Where are those 10 countries you recently claimed wanted you? So all na lie. But you should have known. You had the opportunity, you blew it. Your ego will not allow you to seek greater knowledge of the game so you could compete and deliver at the top. Like my mother will say, eefin niwa! Character is like flame! Anywhere you go, you divide. So Giwa is your agent paid to destabilize the NFF or NFA or whatever it is called so you can return? Na wa o. I dont know how long you will stay this time. But remember you have lost the love and admiration of most soccer-loving Nigerians. Your performance is nothing to write home about. After the Nations Cup, you have played 13 matches and won just two - Bosnia and Sudan. With this performance, imagine you were made the Managing Director of Super Eagles Nigeria Limited and the company which used to a global player suddenly fell way behind under your reign, the board would have sacked long time ago. I dont know how far you will go with this your divide and rule tactics o. But another Yoruba proverb may help you here: Society doesnt want you and you want to start a song. If you start it, who will help you chorus it. Stephen Keshi, this your Super Eagles song, who will help you chorus it? Honourable Aminu Tambuwa, I greet you! I also congratulate you for porting from the PDP to the APC. You did nothing wrong. Nigerias constitution allows it. As a matter of fact, I will never have written this letter if you are not the Speaker of the House, a position that places you fourth in the hierarchy of power in Nigeria. I am not from Sokoto so any party you join in Sokoto is between you and your fellow Sokotonians. But you are the Speaker of Nigeria then it is my business. Between 2003 and 2007, when Senators Musiliu Obanikoro and Wahab Dosunmu defected from the then AD to the PDP, the then Gov. Bola Tinubu and other party bigwigs tried without success to make them lose their seats. I also condemned their actions. Many elected people have defected too. So nothing wrong with your defection. However, many have argued that you should step down as the Speaker because you have become a minority in the House among other reasons. I agree too. Not because of anything other than if you want to represent a change, you cannot still be doing something you want us to change from. The honourable thing for you to do is to do a Thomas Sankara of April 21, 1982 where he called a world press conference in the then Upper Volta now Burkina Faso, lambasted the government he was serving and resigned. Tambuwa, as you were resigning your membership of the PDP, you should have resigned the post given to you by the virtue of your membership of the PDP. It is not too much for you to do. That is what I would have done. Sankara did it too. It becomes a moral burden for you to want to hold on to the mandate of the PDP while you are in APC. Imagine what that would have done for you and your new party if you had announced your resignation as the Speaker. The change gospel you are trying to sell would have sold like wildfire. I dont think there can be any change without morality. However, if your new party supporters feel that morality has no place in politics, so be it. But when the IG of Police withdraws your security details as Speaker and the FG stops pumping into your Speaker office, dont shout foul o. If you dont moral because you are playing politics in Nigeria, dont expect other people too to have moral. They will play it dirty. Goodluck to you as you battle it out.
