YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! in the last 3 days we loaded all the old coats, thin coats, thick coats, hoodies, sleeping bags, gloves, hats and tents we had and went to vets. some went into the free store, some got passed out hand to hand, some got put on the requested now waiting for you list. storage wasnt bare, but those things were gone. then i got all sad and told you guys. i said we needed mens jeans and more sleeping bags. i talked about thermals and gloves and whatever else. in the last 4ish days, this is whats arrived JUST AT STORAGE (and my front porch)- 5 tents 19 fleece throws 4 stacks of mens jeans 1 trash bag of mens jeans 11 thermal bottoms 14 sleeping bags 4 walmart bags of socks 2 tupperware containing a mix of these things 4 back packs almost 200 promised gloves more gloves and other stuff i havent even gone through yet!! plus 2 hams and a turkey!!! these items will go to faces we know. we will tell them hi and hug them. if they are new we will welcome them and try to get anything else they need. we will think about these folks and worry. we will remind them about the free boots and then probably give out some rides there too. we will keep lists. we will make special trips to storage or put out the batsignal when help is suddenly and desperately needed, and someone will offer their assistance immediately. and through it all, we will serve 3 giant ass meals a week. to over a hundred folks each time. we will have sandwiches that are just dropped off. and sometimes giant dishes of pasta on a tuesday, because someone just wants to help. we are the gathering friends dammit. we might not move mountains, but you all are a force of good to be reckoned with.
