YOU HEARD ABOUT THE BIRDS AND BEES...This is about Elephants and Bees. Apparently in some part of Africa, including Kenya, some herds developed a taste for the farmers crops, and could devour their entire crop overnight...When farmers tried to stop them, they got mad and destroyed the farmers houses as well. Hearing this I grew very concerned, fearing they will start killing elephants to protect their livelihood. But BEES came to the rescue...it was discovered and observed, that elephants are petrified of bees...One bull who ripped off a branch, releasing bees, got a bee in his trunk, and went wild, trying to escape it. So, in a wise move by Save the Elephants and the University of Oxford, they erected some simple structures, on the top of which they placed beehives. The elephants, being as smart as they are, observed and REMEMBERED, and seeing what is now called beehive fence, they dont enter and avoid the area. The system is so successful, they are planning to introduce it to other places, such as Sri Lanka Because of bees, farmers are happy and elephants are saved. Save the Bees, Save the Elephants...
