YOU MAD BRO? It would appear that our fearful leader is frustrated. He cant understand why anyone NOT in his gang wont help artificially prop up his Chinese bus makers finances. At double the price of what had been AGREED per bus by the AVTA. marvy marv tried to push through purchases without following the rules. Never mind the part about pushing the AVTA in the red. rex dont need no balanced budgets by cracky! Just look at Lancasters finances if you need proof of that. But what really amuses us is his jobs, jobs, jobs cry. Like cities rex has cock blocked on their own city projects, which has cost them jobs, should now be concerned that rexs BYD needs tax dollars? The guy is a never ending hole, always needing more money! ============================== R Rex Parris uploaded a file. 5 hrs I thought the point was to bring jobs to the Antelope Valley? This latest attempt to kill jobs is lunacy. The purchase of buses was on the agenda, Marvin Crist was chairing the meeting, they voted to send out a Request for Proposal for electric buses. The two council members from Palmdale wanted diesel buses claiming they were clean diesel, voted no, the majority voted yes. So now the Palmdale Council orders the city attorney to send out this letter which, by they way, was never voted on at a council meeting. I guess we shouldnt be surprised they think diesel is clean energy. So show us the properly posted agenda which included an agenda item to approve purchase of a number of electric buses. 5 hrs · Like · 1 Louis ***** It is ironic that Palmdale violates the Brown Act to complain about the Brown Act. 5 hrs · Like · 1 Linda ****** If the Palmdale Council met in a manner in violation of the Brown Act that is a separate issue. Question on the table is whether the AVTA did so in taking up this agenda item and authorizing this purchase. 4 hrs · Edited · Like Linda B ******* Ummm .... Look at the agenda. avta/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=949 3 hrs · Like · 1 Leslie ******* ********* R Rex Parris...my brain is tired; Im not sure I understand the process or what happened when? Can you explain, with dates, and attachments? Thanks. 3 hrs · Edited · Like Linda ****** So how does an agenda item authorizing the purchase of diesel buses morph into one about purchasing electric buses? 3 hrs · Like Linda B ******* Look at the OTHER agenda. avta/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=693 3 hrs · Like Linda ****** So they gave themselves an out if LONO funds came through back last year. Staff, in full recognition of that and with knowledge of current economic issues, recommended preceding with the buy of the diesel buses...which is what the agenda indicated. That does not give Crist and company the right to use a completely different agenda item to push through their own scheme. Palmdale is right to complain. Come on people...just play by the f***ing rules! 2 hrs · Like Linda B ******* Actually, theres more stuff to review. There is a whole history here. Before jumping to any conclusions, people need to see the whole picture. avta/index.aspx?page=234 2 hrs · Like Linda B ******* Look under board of directors. Look at agendas and minutes. Backtrack the whole story. 2 hrs · Like Linda ****** I read everything you linked before. If you have a different take on this please interject. I dont have time to continue to read 100s of pages of material to discern what other conclusion I might come to. It appears pretty obvious what the announced agenda was for this meeting. What happened is subject to debate as to whether it fit within the parameters of that item. I personally dont think so. 2 hrs · Like Linda B ******* Without knowing the full story, people cant make educated decisions. I think we should let the board members and the city discuss/explain the situation 2 hrs · Like Linda ****** Your comment assumes that they will conduct a thoughtful and rational discussion, without other biases interfering. That is rarely the case. You have also indicated that you have seen information in the sites you provided that give possible justification for the actions taken. An informed citizenry uses all resources at hand to be able to judge the actions of their elected representatives. So if you have relevant information I hope you will share it. 2 hrs · Like Linda B ******* I am saying there is history here. We should see it all. 2 hrs · Like Linda ****** But the question at hand is whether the board took action on a valid agenda item. I know there has been a long history regarding diesel vs electric buses, and the ongoing war between the two cities. But does anything in all that documentation affect the basic question of what was advertised to the public regarding the decisions to be made at that meeting. You see the fact that you want people to have to wade through tons of past history to ferret out what was to be decided at that meeting is exactly why the Brown Act needs to be interpreted very simply. I should not have to dig through all that stuff to see if someone could apply some sleight of hand to vote on an issue I have an interest in without it being advertised honestly. Yes we should see it all, but at the very minimum we should know what part of the publics business is to be discussed and voted on at any point in time. 1 hr · Like Linda B ******* Im not defending and Im not attacking anyone in this debate. I will point out, however, that things often fall under old business when it comes to agendas. 1 hr · Like file:///C:/Users/Owner/Downloads/Palmdale%20City%20Attorney%20Letter%2017Dec2014[1]%20(1).pdf
