YOUNG ZEBRAS IN ZAMBIA The national Under 17 football team is in Zambia on July 16 for the African Youth Championship qualifiers first leg match to be played on Sunday, July 20. The team, which consists mostly of junior secondary school students has been on camp since June 27. The team has played two friendly games with South Africa in preparation for the important encounter. The team’s head coach, Odirile Matlhaku said in an interview that everyone was ready and the mood was a positive one in the Young Zebras camp. He said the recent friendly games against the neighbours were intended to give the squad international exposure. Matlhaku said most of the players in the squad had never played an international match before, therefore it was necessary to give them the exposure. He said they were going for nothing less than victory in Zambia. “We want a positive result in this away leg” he said. The second leg will be played in Botswana. The 18 man squad consists of Godfrey Sebolai, Kabelo Letshola, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Oarabile Modise, Lebogang Powell Lekgethiso, Tshepho Malgase, Kitso Dibuleleng, Kgotla Dikomang, Kgothatso Thobane, Ocean Lottering, Mpho Kgomo, Thapediso Ramosesane, Thomas Manyelela, Kgosietsile Ernest, Benjamin Dikagiso, Jonathan Ntagileng, Karabo Sebeo, Thuso Victor Oodira and Godfrey Sebolai. The game will be played at the Sunset Stadium in Lusaka. Kickoff is 3pm. (BOPA)
