YOUR HEARTS DESIRE! -- In moments of honesty or extremity we sense in the depth of our being that there is a God to Whom we are morally accountable, and in Whom we may find our inmost hearts desire defined and satisfied. But we encounter an opposing influence, a tendency to evade the reality of our true need. We seek fulfillment in ways that are contrary to sound reason, common sense, the appeals of conscience, and natural law. Insanely, yet with an appearance of intelligence and goodwill we hurt ourselves and others as we deny the voice that calls us to nobility, to righteousness, to God. We hurry here and there, everywhere and anywhere, to taste and touch, to see and hear, to feel and experience anything that might possibly end our quest for meaning and settle us into a life of uninterrupted happiness. But all in vain, for we all must finally face the reality that only in God is our soul at rest. He who is our Maker, our peace, and the true lover of our lives, is the blessed definition of our hearts desire!
