YOUR HELP IS NEEDED: Dr. Marwan Maalouf, was tragically hit by a careless driver in Fountain Hills, last October, while he was on the cycling lane. You may have heard about this story on the news since the driver left the scene after going into the cycling lane and hitting him, leaving him to die on the side of the road. Dr. Maalouf was found thanks to a witness who saw the driver pull over to check the damage on his car. He later on told the police that he never saw my brother. The sentencing date for the defendant is scheduled for: Judge Sherry Stephens September 6, 2013 at 1:30 pm at 175 W. Madison Courtroom 5C Phoenix, AZ 85003 We have been told by the prosecutor that any support to the victim might help ensure that the driver will not get away with his crime with probation and will serve an appropriate prison sentence. He is actually being charged of a Class 2 felony. If any members...would like to show their support to cyclists who are victim of careless drivers, they can write to the victim advocate, or even show up in court if they would like to. Emails, personal stories, anything would be greatly appreciated to make Arizona roads safer for cyclists.
