YOUR OWN SKIN: I spoke with a female friend over the weekend who is having a bad time, she shocked me when she told me she was jealous because I seem to Fit In everywhere. I laughed because I dont really, not at all. Besides home, the office, the courthouse, the U of M and Grenada, MS thats full of Wards, I dont really fit in anywhere. I dont have to because Im comfortable with myself. I know exactly who I am. Yep, Im in the cool kids club and I dont care who knows it. The disdain some people have for me is evident and I hear about it on a semi regular basis. Oh well. I have a great family, wonderful friends, good job, pretty girls chasing me and do fairly well at life. Long ago I learned that there are people, for whatever reason, just arent going to like me. Bless their hearts. None of us have to worry about fitting in or being accepted if we truly value who we are. Me learning to be comfortable in my own skin is one of the best things that ever happened to me. It just takes practice, anyone can do it. Im far from perfect but I am better because I dont worry about what angry little bitter people may say or do. I dont have to think about keeping up with the Joneses because Ive got stuff to do and a life to live. So my message today is the next time you feel out of place or unwelcome in some situation, just smile and take a deep breath, take some mental notes and know that most people dont feel like they fit in. Unfortunately, most people arent comfortable in their skin either. Smile! The world will wonder what you are up to! Happy Monday!
