THE WAY WE WORKED OPENING RECEPTION Friday, November 7 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Groton Public Library Dont miss your last chance to see this Smithsonian exhibit at a Connecticut location! The Way We Worked traces historic changes in the American workforce and explores how work became a central element in American culture. Opening Ceremony Program Moderated by Harriet Jones of WNPR -National Anthem -Welcome by Mayor of the Town of Groton, Rita Schmidt -Introduction of CT at Work by Scott Wands of CT Humanities -Perspectives on the Past, Present and Future of Work in SECT featuring brief remarks by: Glenn Gordinier of Mystic Seaport Bob Mills of Norwich Community Development Corporation Scott Bates of the Center for National Policy -Ribbon Cutting Ceremony -Exhibition Opens Music provided by the United States Coast Guard Band Woodwind Quintet. Refreshments provided by Ella T. Grasso Technical High School Culinary Arts Department. The exhibit is free and open to the public from November 8 through December 21.
