YOUTHFULNESS. You know, when programs are designed for youths, I mean christian programs, it is designed as such that it should have attractions like jokes and comedies, games and sport, fashion and generally, things that are spicy and appealing The error in this is that, the period of youthfulness in a mans life is a period that is inclined steeply towards folly and iniquity, with great energy and vitality, bursting hormones, visions and ambitions, diverse desires un-reined, characteristic carelessness and carnality, they are inclined to go wrong. A christian program organized for Christian youths therefore should not be one that should cater for their carnality and sensuality, it should aim to deaden them, to put them under, it should aim to make the youth more sober, more thoughtful, considering weightier matters of life and eternity, helping them set their hands firmly on the plough, feet firmly planted on Christ our foundation, putting kingdom responsibilities on their shoulders and helping them see the narrow way amidst the myriads of good looking distractions This is not done in careless humour, revellings, bringing in comedians to make them laugh, games and shows to spice it up. It is a pity I must say if this things are required to make God attractive. They do these things enough, outside, but when brought together in a Christian gathering, then it should be time to point them in a different direction, to higher Godly heights, to greater sobriety and holy reverence at all times. Timothy, a youth of like passion was given these advice and warnings 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Are we following after the life in those words? Youthfulness is not a ticket for folly and careless living, laugh, by all means do, but be grave, be sober, be watchful, be prayerful, be spiritual,be pure, be Godly. Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth...... Turn folly away from thy bosom, flee youthful lust, be Christian with strenght and vigour, faithful, pure and true. Say a prayer.
