YPG: 5 gang members killed It has now been 3 months since ISIS launched its attacks on Kobanê. The YPG/YPJ fighters are continuing their struggle against the ISIS gangs, killing 5 gang members in recent clashes. The YPG Press Centre has issued a statement saying that it is now the 90th day since ISIS launched its attempt to occupy Basın Kobanê, adding that the determined, tenacious resistance of the YPG had put the gangs on the back foot. “Our forces are continuing their operations to remove the gangs from the positions they have occupied,” the statement continued. The YPG gave the following information regarding recent clashes: “Last night our forces mounted an attack on the Kaniya Kurda area on the Eastern front, killing 4 gang members. One gang member was also killed in an operation on the south eastern front.” Immediate response to the gangs The YPG Press Centre added that attacks had been carried out by gangs in an area 20 kilometres to the south west of the town of Serêkaniyê last night between the villages of Tel Boxa and Menacir.
