YPG: Mekteba Reş and water tank areas liberated YPG (Peoples Defense Units) Press Centre has announced that the ISIS attacks aiming to occupy Kobanê continued yesterday for the 108th day. The statement said that YPG/YPJ fighters are continuing to weaken the ISIS gangs and make further advances. According to the statement, YPG/YPJ forces launched an attack targeting the Mekteba Reş- Black (Muhaditha) school- and the Water Tank areas south of 48th Street, to liberate the two strategic areas occupied by the ISIS earlier. Mekteba Reş and water tank areas were cleansed of gangs and liberated as result of the operation which was started at around 3pm yesterday afternoon and continued ceaselessly till the first several hours of the new year.. 24 gang members were killed in the offensive, bodies of the five as well as arms and munitions belonging to them were also seized. 3 fighters of the 3 YPG/YPJ have been martyred in the fighting.
