Ya know I like stories that are Fantasy and Science Fiction and are adventurous and involve Magic and Supernatural powers and the Spirit realm. Jesus told stories to emphasize a point or to teach a truth. I find that the Holy Spirit will take a line or a situation in some story I am reading and give me a revelation to seeing another facet of scripture. Kind of like St.Pauls exhortation in Ephesians when he is praying that we could see the height depth and breath of the Kingdom. So the other night I was watching Harry Potters part two of the Deathly Hallows and Harry had just been blasted into another realm and he is talking to Dumbledore. The Dumbledore says to Harry," Do not pity the dead, pity the living. AND especially those who are living without love." Yesterday was 9/11 and a lot of pitying of the dead was going on. Which leads to bitterness and accusation because it reveals that we have not forgiven the trespass and therefore are not forgiven. I have been in war, I have lost comrades and friends, I have escorted the bodies and closed coffins of the fallen and given folded flags to grieving mothers and fathers. I have harbored the hate against those who killed them and I have killed them. I have sent there sons home to be buried and to be mourned by their mothers and fathers. The only way to heal the wound is through forgiveness. The only way to have peace of mind and be able to sleep is through forgiveness. Not the forgiveness of the lips but the forgiveness of setting aside all the pain and hurt and anger and letting it go unconditionally forgiveness just like your Father in Heaven unconditionally forgives you for the sins that nailed His only begotten son to a tree. Let It Go. Be Free of it. Be at Peace. Finally.......
