Yah, its a problem. As is the problems facing institutions of mental health as described by Bruce Levine. Medicine, especially psychiatric medicine and mental health is poorly designed, executes, and leaves little care or love for the patients. In general, we just dont matter. I know the feeling. Nonstimulant based treatments are seldom covered, especially by Medicaid, and thus permit further risks for us since these are the most effective treatments. Who cares if a ADHD patient pops themselves besides their family, friends, and therapist? Its not like they matter, like we matter, like I matter to the general population. Havent you heard republicans lately? Im an entitled jagoff who should just die. Between the nutters, uncaring elitists, imperialist vagabonds, and misogynistic trolls online, youd ever wonder why Im still here?
