Yakima Schools Foundation Announces Scholarship Availability . . . The Yakima Schools Foundation is looking for applications for the David Humpherys Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship, in the amount of $2500.00, is awarded yearly to a graduating senior based on volunteer activities. Eligible applicants are enrolled in their senior year at Yakima Public Schools high schools (AC Davis, Eisenhower, YV-TECH, Stanton Academy and the Alternative Programs). To be considered for the Humpherys Scholarship, please submit the following in writing no later than April 1: • Student name, address, telephone and email; • Date of graduation & where currently enrolled; • Name of post-secondary school; • Two letters of recommendation from employer, coach, or afterschool advisor (teacher recommendation not acceptable) • 500-word essay describing volunteerism during grades 9-12.
