Yakurr youths must listen to this message. The beauty of politics - TopicsExpress

Yakurr youths must listen to this message. The beauty of politics is in the different shades of opinions we hold on issues that affect our common destiny. Today some politicians who would never have become leaders without a governor Imokes effort are mobilizing an army of uninformed youths in Yakurr to wage war against Imoke. But history does not lie. Donald Duke has done well for us. He gave Ugep an urban status by building roads across the community. But two years later, Ugep retreated to the status of a village. The pavements collapsed. Governor Imoke arrived with an integrated development approach that attempted to recapture the failures of Dukes urban development programs but also address rural underdevelopment. Today, there seems to be no difference between Ekori and Ugep except for settlement patterns and the display of affluence. Imoke bridged that inequality by demonstrating that What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. Above all, Imoke abandoned his village and primary constituency to locate a school in Ugep, a school that promises to attract the flow of foreign currency into our domain. It is strange in Nigerian politics for a governor to abandon his village and develop others. Imoke has shown the greatest respect to Yakurr people. He gave ears to our cry. That school will create a multiplier effect on the local economy; it will affect the price of housing and transportation. It will also affect the demand for food, clothing and merchandise. Small businesses will flourish and economic opportunity will spread and lift many families from poverty. Imoke has given is the tools to emancipate ourselves from economic underdevelopment. Is it not idiocy to fight such a man? Now, do we know that any attempt to fight Imoke might halt our progress and take Yakurr back to 2006 level? We need to stand by Imoke even if it means crawling. This election is as important as Imokes investment in Yakurr. Lets support this man in the interest of tomorrow.
