Yamhill County Sheriffs Office participates in the 12th Annual Nation Family Violence Apprehension Detail From: Yamhill Co. Sheriffs Office Thursday, October 23rd, 2014 • 11:21 AM On October 22nd, 2014, the Yamhill County Domestic Violence Response Team coordinated efforts to locate people with outstanding warrants with an emphasis on domestic violence. The agencies that participated in this year sweep were: Yamhill County District Attorneys Office, McMinnville Police Department, Newberg Police Department, Amity Police Department, Yamhill Police Department, Yamhill County Community Corrections, Yamhill County Victims Advocates Office, U.S. Marshalls and the Yamhill County Sheriffs Office. In total 27 warrants were attempted, 40 compliance checks were performed with a total of 6 people being arrested. In addition to those taken into custody, more arrests are anticipated from information the teams learned while on compliance checks. Captain Tim Svenson said, We attempt warrants year round expeditiously however; a few times a year we specifically target domestic violence offenders in conjunction with our counterparts across the nation. Its important for our citizens to know we are serious about ending domestic violence and holding offenders accountable. ####
