Yap will not be Yap if this goes through, but I will say one thing - TopicsExpress

Yap will not be Yap if this goes through, but I will say one thing for them, the legislature is at least responsible enough to slow down the process so that people can be given more time to think this over and perhaps discuss it further and make sure that they come out of this the winner or equal beneficiaries of the venture. Unlike here in the CNMI where our legislature took something drafted by someone else and rammed it through without a thought to doing things properly and legitimately. He {Dr. Rubenstein} said some observers pointed out that ETG is pursuing casino operations on Yap and Samoa, the islands closest to America’s Pacific territories: Guam and American Samoa. Dr. Rubinstein said, “The repositioning of American military forces involves building up troop numbers and training exercises in both Guam and American Samoa. We might question now whether Yap is becoming a part of a geopolitical Go game, that ancient Chinese board game in which players occupy adjacent areas and compete to control the larger total area.” I would not be surprised if indeed this is the case. Especially in light of the fact that they are now ignoring the governors plead to rescind the agreement and continue to work with the President, Hmmmm, This aggressiveness leaves me wondering. Then again I have been accused of being too suspicious, but when it comes to the future of my children and my grandchildren and theirs, I always ask, to somes total chagrin, the wrong questions, being the devils advocate ....
