Yarn Couture DIY! Here is an extremely simple crochet pattern! Its a great beginner craft project to work on if you are just learning, or with your kids on a rainy day! It only uses the most basic steps and only 2 stitches, Single crochet (sc) and a Slip Stitch (sl) Supplies-worsted weight cotton, chapstick, F hook, yarn needle, scissorsoptional- shank back button, metal split ring, lanyard clip -round 1- chain 2, make 5 sc in first chain, sl at end of round -round two- 2 sc in each st around, sl at end of round -round three- sc in back loop only around, do not join at end of round -round 4 and up- sc in each sc around, do not join at end of rounds, just keep going in a spiral. -Continue to sc around until the body length is long enough for the tube of chapstick. If you don’t add a button, you can stop here and make a small chain loop for a lanyard clip then finish off. If you add the button sew the button into your desired place. If you do add a button, stop about halfway to the button then turn and sc back across 5 stitches.Keep going back and forth until this flap reaches the top of the button. Chain 5 then attach with sl. Weave in end. Add lanyard hook or key ring. photos to follow!!!
