Yatris baggage recovered: Governor compliments Police SRINAGAR, AUGUST 7 – Shri N. N. Vohra, Governor J&K, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, has lauded the prompt action taken by the Anantnag Police to affect recovery of the stolen baggage of three Amarnathji Yatris from Faizabad, UP, who had entrusted their bags to a labourer of Chandanwari for being carried to Sheshnag Yatra Camp. The Baggage contained Rs. 11,000 in cash, three cell phones, PAN cards and clothing of the pilgrims. Sarvshri Gagan Jaiswal, Abhishek Jaiswal and Nishant Tripathi, on their way to Sheshnag, had handed over their baggage and other belongings to a ponywallah at Chandanwari, after retaining his Voter Identity Card. When they reached Sheshnag, they tried very hard but could not trace the ponywallah. After performing Darshan at the Holy Cave and returning home, Mr. Gagan Jaiswal sent an e-mail to the Chairman of the Shrine Board and complained about the loss suffered during the Amarnathji pilgrimage. The Chairman directed the CEO to take up the matter with the Anantnag Police for immediate investigation and Chairman also spoke to Mr. R. K. Jalla, SSP Anantnag, who acted promptly, traced the ponywallah, recovered the lost items and had them returned to the Yatris. The Governor has complimented Mr. Jalla and the Anantnag Police for the prompt and successful investigation of the pilgrims’ complaint.
