Yay Ive been nominated for something that doesnt involve me getting soaked. Ive been nominated by Ross Mcintyre to list 10 books that have inspired me or shaped my personality. As a lot of books on my list are horror books & if they inspired me Id be a serial killer rather than just a big cissy so Ive decided to bend the rules so its just my 10 favourite fictional books of all time. Ive also omitted Graphic Novels as I think Ill need a separate list for they bad boys. Ok here goes. In no particular order--- 1. The Stand- Stephen King--THE best & scariest book Ive ever read & maybe also explains my over reaction fear of man flu. 2. The Godfather- Mario Puzo---LOVE the book- HATE the film. (Yes you read that right. I HATE the film) 3. Plague- Michael Grant- 3rd book in the Gone series. The books get continually more graphic & gory as the series continues but this one is my fave. 4. Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows- JK Rowling loved all the Potter books but Ive chose the last one as it proves that The author had the ending planned from the start. 5. IT - Stephen King - Clowns dont seem so funny anymore. 6. Angels & Demons - Dan Brown- best if the Robert Langdon series but I love them all. 7. Wolves of Calla (Dark Tower 5)- Stephen King (again)- proof that King can write fantasy as good as he can write horror. 8. 20th Century Ghosts- Joe Hill. - the best short story collection Ive ever read (& Ive read a few). 9. Necroscope - Brian Lumley- Thats how you do vampires. These ones certainly dont feckin sparkle in the sun!!! 10. Catching Fire- Suzzane Collins- The Empire Strikes Back of The Hunger Games trilogy. (11. Boko- Steven Davidson. The best Zombie book that shares its name with a Hibs player from the 1990s written by a guy that sit beside me at work ever written EVER!!!) I nominate Alex Dickson, Stevie Galbraith, Janet Nolan & Melanie Mitchell.
