Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I - TopicsExpress

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (Psalms 23: 4 & 5) Psalms Chapter 23 as a whole is an awesome passage to lean on a day to day basis, but let us look at verses 4 and 5. These two verses say so much to us and give us such great encouragement in our daily walk with Jesus, and through trying times. As a child of God, we have no need to fear when we go through great, or small, trials and tribulations. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) We can instead, rest assure, that God has prepared a table for us in the midst of our situations and circumstances. This means he gives us what we have need of in that situation, and for that situation. Greater still, He is there to comfort us and help us along the way. Now, you notice that it says He prepared the table in the PRESCENCE of our enemies. Even though it may not seem that your situation or trial is looking good or is changing for your good; you can be firm in knowing that God is preparing a table for you. The table may not always have what WE think it should have, but if we trust God, it has EXACTLTY what we have need of to endure. How awesome and wonderful is our God! In his great and infinite grace, mercy and love he has come to help us through each situation and provide a place of peace in the presence of our enemies!
