Yeah, I REALLY like THIS ONE, including the REALLY NICE GUITAR-WORK, and the POSITIVELY ‘HYMNAL’ CHORD STRUCTURE! VANCE, I’ll bet YOU like THIS ONE? When I first went to LEVELLAND, it wasn’t by ‘WHISPERJET’, and JAMES was only 12, and his father, LARRY, had just written ‘TERMS OF ENDEARMENT’, but you know that. You might not know that LARRY attended STANFORD as a WALLACE STEGNER FELLOW in 1960, where he studied under STEGNER and alongside another young writer named KEN KESEY. They became friends, and when KESEY made his FAMOUS ‘TRIPS’, as outlined in TOM WOLFE’S cult classic, ‘THE ELECTRIC KOOLAID ACID TEST’, they stopped at LARRY’S home in HOUSTON. They had remained friends when LARRY went back to TEXAS, until KESEY’S death in 2001 from complications of liver surgery to remove a tumor. LARRY married KEN’S WIDOW, NORMA FAYE KESEY, in MAY of 2011, in ARCHER CITY, TEXAS, where LARRY owns a used bookstore called ‘BOOKED UP’, downsized now but which was at one time known as one of the largest used bookstores in the country, with 400,000 to 450,000 titles.
