Yeah I dunno, the most practical solution is to sell the building - TopicsExpress

Yeah I dunno, the most practical solution is to sell the building hosting 2 large departments, one of which I argue contributes a lot to the universitys remaining positive image (our art is the most public, screens nationally and internationally, Sams awesome invention), and cramming them into a building with no studio space left available and no sound or light proofing. Its like this absolute idiot doesnt even know what is needed to do video/film work. I mean, I GUESS it doesnt matter when youve whittled these departments down to be a fraction of what they were (and the film department is pretty much all grant money the teachers seek out) and hardly any classes are being offered anyway. Apparently this is better than selling the Duke building, which needs so much expensive renovation (the roof, the asbestos, the MOLD EVERYWHERE in the rotting wood infrastructure, the mice, the absolutely stupid and useless layout for the most part). It would merge much better with the Port because the Port is full of painting/drawing rooms and the classes go together - its annoying travelling across town to go to the next class in less than 30 minutes on the amazingly slow Halifax bus system or on foot. Its also a better idea than cutting excessive admin. staff (and largely ineffective IMO) or their ridiculous salaries. I like how hes like, Yeah, the students nor anyone else offers no better solution DUDE YOU DUMBASS - people have been throwing ideas around and been holding meetings about this for the past 2 or 3 years, turn up your hearing aid. I dont even care if the school merges with Dal at this point because thats better and less destructive than what is currently going on. thechronicleherald.ca/metro/1201378-nscad-looks-at-selling-academy-campus-to-cut-deficit
