Yeah, Im VERY VERY late with this mini-review, but itll help alot of people who are thinking of watching it over playing the game. --- [2/5] Plot The general plot of the animation followed the games very closely. However, many plot revelation points were modified probably to fit the 13-episode constraint they had. That being said, it left a huge impact on plot twists as they felt ALOT less impactful than they were in the game. Not to mention, alot of VERY important details were left unexplained and seemingly just appeared as if pulled out of Hammerspace, and just plain rushed. Quite disappointing. --- [2/5] Characters Again, the characters were taken directly from the game so theres nothing much to be said. However, the low score ties in with the plot as there seemed to be very little room at all for proper character development. The game offers more, and allowed players to feel the characters. --- [4/5] Animation This has got to be one of my favourite aspects of the show. Seeing your favourite characters from the game animated? Definite yes. Although some of the animation tries to capture the charm of the game(kotodama, arguments), it feels extremely cheesy and unnecessary. --- [3/5] Music A huge number of tracks were borrowed from the original games OST, which, may I just put it out here: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Points given for some original tracks in which we dont hear in the game too. However, things just dont cut out as the animation seems to match the wrong themes to the wrong events, making them THAT much less impactful. And I must point out how they completely MURDERED the main theme of Danganronpa? Bad rapping in English? Over the BEST theme in the game? No. NO. Just get out. Go away. --- [1/5] Overall Comparing the game and the animation, the results are clear cut. The game provides an overall much more complete package and satisfying experience. I implore ANYONE who thinks of the animation to be a suitable substitute for the game to seriously consider otherwise. If anything, the animation can suffice as a very condensed version of Danganronpa, but you will seriously lack the full experience in which the series has to offer, which was very perfectly executed in the game. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Now, the wait begins for Super Danganronpa 2 coming out for the PSV this September!
