Yeah....you all are going to learn today. Do you know the origin of Santa Claus? In German mythology, Odin, now known as Santa was the god of wisdom, magic, occultic knowledge, and war. Odin was depicted as an old man with a long white beard. During winter, Odin is believed to have traveled the entire globe with an eight legged white horse, and two demon-looking helpers known as Krampus. When Odin came into towns, the Krampuses announced his arrival with big cowbells. Then, Odin would give gifts to the good children, while his Krampuses (demons) beat up and scared the bad children. This is why Santa Claus is Coming to Town, was sung during the christmas season. It was to alert the bad children of Sinterklaas arrival. Eventhough the image of Santa changed in America, the original still remains the same in most European countries. The original image of Santa, along with krampuses, is seen in this video. P.S. the date is backwards in most European countries. It is not June 12; it is December 6 (12/6/2013)
